Global Service Corps offers memorable cross-cultural volunteer abroad programs in Bangkok, Thailand and the Singburi and Lopburi provinces of Thailand through its Two-Week, Short-Term, Long-Term, and Internship programs. GSC partners with local organization Greenway Thailand and the Pitaya Suwan Foundation to provide the necessary logistical and programmatic planning support for volunteers. Thailand volunteers experience the rare opportunity to be immersed in the Buddhist culture of Southeast Asia while living with a local host family in Thailand. Join a two-week Introduction to Service Learning Program if you have limited time but would still like experience the real Thailand and give something back at the same time. Short-term GSC programs range from 4 to 8 weeks and long-term and internship programs are offered for 9 weeks to six months. Projects focus on teaching HIV/AIDS education and prevention, teaching general English to students or novice monks, shadowing and assisting health care professionals in local hospitals and clinics, and caring for and looking after young children in orphanages.
As a GSC Thailand volunteer, you'll have the unique opportunity to live, work, serve and learn alongside the Thai people. Living with a local Thai host family, Thailand volunteers will have the experience of a lifetime with endless opportunities to share their time, talents, and knowledge with the teachers, students, Buddhist monks, health professionals, and local community members of their new home.
GSC works closely with each volunteer prior to their trip, helping them to select the program or internship that will best benefit them and their goals. Once on-site, our In-country coordinators and host families provide all the needed assistance and support.
