Global Service Corps has gained Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status in Kenya (now inactive), Tanzania and Thailand.

East Africa : Kenya and Tanzania NGO Status
GSC obtained NGO status in Kenya in 1998 and in Tanzania in 2002. In Tanzania, GSC now has a fully functioning Board of Directors and Board of Advisors, primarily staffed by local Tanzanian professionals. GSC Tanzania is recognized as a leading Tanzanian NGO in its cross-sectoral approach to HIV/AIDS and food security.

Thailand NGO Status
On May 6, 2003, Global Service Corps was awarded official Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status from the Government of Thailand, Ministry of Labor. GSC is now in the process of renewing this status and is currently affiliated with the Thai NGO, Patiya Sawan Foundation.
