A volunteer abroad experience with Global Service Corps in Tanzania allows you to live and work with the people of Tanzania for a true cross-cultural experience while learning about different perspectives on life, family, time, wealth, nature and religion. Best of all, you can become part of a global family through a Tanzanian homestay. Feel the sense of satisfaction that comes from giving something back to those giving so much to you.
Global Service Corps, a longstanding Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in Tanzania, offers a unique way to experience Tanzania through our 2 Week, Short-Term, Long-Term, Internship, and Fellowship programs. Volunteers and interns participate in two-week to six-month service learning programs that focus on HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security, and International Health. These programs can be experienced through the Community Training, Community Development or Integrated Program formats. GSC also offers a six-month to one-year Seeds of Sustenance (SOS) Fellowship Program in Tanzania for those with an advanced degree in public health, international health or international development. All Tanzania volunteer programs include in-depth cultural orientation and technical training, Swahili lessons, and a safari excursion!
GSC works closely with participants prior to their trip to create a program best suited to their interest areas. Once on-site, our in-country coordinators and host families provide all the needed assistance and support.

Tanzania is Africa's land of superlatives. The continent's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340'), stands three degrees south of the equator. Oldovai Gorge is the site of Leakey's discovery of the oldest human bones. The Selous is the largest game preserve in the world. The Serengeti has the largest concentration of game. Africa's longest coral reef is the Island of Zanzibar. The largest extinct volcanic crater is Ngorongoro, which measures 12 miles across and is home of the largest permanent population of game in all of Africa. For years, world travelers have flocked to Tanzania to get a glimpse of these natural treasures, abundant wildlife, and fascinating traditional cultures. Yet, the vast majority of these travelers pass through the country without ever appreciating what is at the heart of the Tanzanian experience: the People.
