Teach English overseas in Thailand with GSC! The Thailand Ministry of Education has prioritized providing English as a Foreign Language (EFL) training to Thai students. GSC is supporting the Ministry to meet this need. The GSC Teach English in Thailand Education Program gives volunteers the opportunity to provide much needed English language training to students in rural and urban areas of Thailand. Volunteers have the option of teaching basic and conversational English in private or public primary or secondary schools or at temple schools to novice monks. The Teach English in Thailand Education Program is available as part of the Two-Week, Short-Term, Long-Term, and Internship Programs.

Prior to departure, GSC provides volunteers with a specialized teaching manual containing sample lesson plans and activities that will make you an effective teacher throughout your service. Additionally, you'll receive teacher training during the orientation session in Singburi from GSC’s experienced in-country staff. Topics covered include classroom management, what to expect in the classroom, lesson planning and an overview of resources and activities. Previous teaching experience is not required - just a positive attitude and a willingness to approach challenges with patience and enthusiasm!

Because of school vacations in the months of April and October, volunteer opportunities at the schools are limited, and will consist of special projects and day camps. Contact the Thailand Program Coordinator for further details.
