INTEGRATED SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAM IN THAILAND
GSC offers an Integrated Service-Learning Volunteer Program in Thailand for those who want to participate in more than one project during their time volunteering abroad in Thailand.

All Integrated Service-learning Program participants receive program-specific in-country orientation and project training and then divide their remaining time between two or more volunteer projects. Integrated Programs include the initial one-week Thai and Buddhism cultural orientation. Programs with a Teaching English segment include an additional one-week teaching English training. Programs with the Buddhist Immersion segment include a one-week training in monastery life and teaching English to monks.These Integrated Programs allow any combination of the Buddhist Immersion Program, Teach English Abroad Program and Orphanage Care Program. Every Integrated Program begins with Orphanage Care and/or Teach English Abroad program segments. Programs including the Buddhist Immersion module must be scheduled for this segment to begin on an official Buddhist Immersion Program Start Date.

Different combinations of Integrated Programs require different minimum program durations and project fees. See the below table for more details.

* Participant determines start date of each segment on mail-in registration form (downloaded during online application session).
**Programs can be extended up to six months total by increasing the length of any volunteer segment.

Included in all Integrated Programs: Airport pickup; all means as noted; accommodations during Bangkok and at project sites for the duration of your program; all entrance fees to temples and museums while in Bangkok and during orientation weeks; basic Thai language lessons and cultural orientation. (Additional orientation and training depending on selected Integrated Program as noted in the above table.) Transportation during Bangkok tour and on local trips during orientation and project weeks, transportation to project sites during each segment, bus transportation to Bangkok at program conclusion and before the Buddhist Immersion segment for those who select this module. Participants will then arrange their own taxi transportation to the hotel rendezvous for the Buddhist Immersion Bangkok weekend.

Not Included in Service-Learning Trip: Travel expenses including passport charges, applicable visa charges** ($60-$150), travelers insurance* ($150-$350), airport departure taxes (may apply), and airfare* ($1,500-$2,500); meals and transportation for weekend free time activities and trips; any additional taxi costs incurred while traveling to the Singburi bus station upon departure (Orphanage and Teaching English Programs); Bangkok hotel accommodations and taxi to airport at the end of the program.

Scheduling Note: Integrated Programs can only be started and segments can only be transitioned to on official GSC program start dates. Please keep this in mind when determining the length of your GSC Integrated Program.
