As Mark Twain said, "Twenty
years from now you will be more disappointed by the things
you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the
bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade
winds in your sail. Explore. Dream. Discover."
See the world ...serve and learn!
Our volunteers are doing just that.
Hello there from Global Service Corps...
This summer has been very busy for us. More people than ever
before are joining our volunteer programs. In fact, we have
had to add more sessions! Lucky for us, we have had the fortune
of speaking and working with many of you.
Today find out more ways you can feed your soul and save
money too on a volunteer vacation, long-term program, or internship.
Learn more about two unique opportunities - working with Thai
children in an orphanage and HIV/AIDS patients at a wat (monastery).
Also, hear about our founder's presentations at leading International
Conferences this summer and the upcoming Adventures in Travel
Expo. Lastly, hear from the local Masaai people!

| GSC
Presents at International Conferences |
GSC founder, Rick Lathrop, is presenting GSC's effective efforts
to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa - through education, prevention and
immune enhancing nutrition - at two leading international health
conferences this summer.
At the Global Health Conference in Washington DC last month, he
spoke about GSC's HIV/AIDS volunteer, internship, and GSC Fellowship
(GSC Fellowship) Fellowship programs. Interest in GSC's success
with its volunteer and summer HIV/AIDS day camp and community education
programs, and the use of GSC Fellows to teach about organic foods
boosting immunity was strong: he spoke to a packed room. Read press

Work
with Thai Orphans |
|
"Feeling that my actions were making a difference in the lives
of children was an extraordinary experience... ...Returning home
was probably the most difficult part of the journey."
Do you love children? As a volunteer you may work
at the Suksasongkhraw Orphanage in Thailand. GSC volunteers assist
teachers and students in teaching English. Given the nature of the
school and students, Suksasongkhraw is unique - a truly rewarding
and satisfying experience for those who have served.
Teaching the children provides countless opportunities for personal
learning and growth. Read

| HIV/AIDS
at Wat |
Volunteers interested in HIV/AIDS may now work at a Thai Wat (monastery).
The wat is well known for its unique and extremely successful approach
to fighting the disease.
The Wat's Abbott has created a proprietary approach which combines
a naturalistic and spiritual treatment with great success.
Come help patients combat the disease in a true Buddhist environment.
Work with monks and enjoy a Buddhist immersion experience.

Masaai Train Villagers |
Two Masaai men report on their
successes and challenges in educating Masaai villages about HIV/AIDS.
These men went through a three week GSC HIV/AIDS training in the
spring. They were sponsored by a past GSC volunteer with whom they
bonded and kept in touch. Now they are spreading the word by reaching
out to Masaai villages.
Hear the challenges they face, like walking 30-60 kilometres a
day between villages and teaching men and women separately. And
hear about their successes... Masaai
first-hand Report (unedited).
Recently volunteers were excited to be invited by local Masaai
to visit
a Masaai village.
